I

n Grown Ups 2, Lenny Feder moves his family back to his hometown, where all of his close friends live. All of their children go to school together and it is the last day before summer vacation starts up. This day might not end how our summers start. I know when my summer starts it usually means I just go home and probably sleep. However, this is not the case when it comes to the fun group of friends who join together for a great first day of summer. It is very interesting to see all of the points of view from each family on how their mornings start.

The Feders wake up to a deer in their house. The Lamonsoffs’ song, Bean, starts off his morning by doing math, however, all of his answers are wrong and his mother doesn’t correct him. The Lamsonsoffs’ daughter, Donna, however, shows off her unique style by wearing some bedazzled boots that she made herself. The Mckenzies start their lovely morning with Mrs. Mckenzie forgetting her anniversary and trying to make it up. Once the kids get to school and the adults finally arrive at work the fun begins. Lenny, Eric, and Kurt ditch all of their responsibilities, take a school bus and drive to Kmart. After that entire fiasco, everyone attends Lenny’s daughter’s ballet recital. As you can clearly see, this isn’t a normal day for the average group of people, but maybe this is normal for these families. Being able to skip out on work, going rolling throughout town in a tire, owning a business. It’s not quite the definition of normal. When Lenny, Eric, Kurt, and Marcus decide to go to an old hangout spot, they are surprised to discover that the college students think they’re too old and should leave. This starts a little war between the townies and the college students. Since it’s the first day of summer, the Feders throw a party and invite all of their friends and neighbors. Everyone is having a great time. Except the college students who decide to show up and try to start a fight. In the end, the townies win and continue to enjoy their summer and their party.

The cast of the movie, in my opinion, made the movie even better. Multiple comedy stars were included, and I couldn’t imagine it any other way. The main characters are Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Chris Rock, and David Spade. These actors have starred in many other comedies. Happy Gilmore, Paul Blart: Mall Cop 1 & 2, Madagascar, and The Benchwarmers are only a few of the many comedic movies these four have starred in. Although the supporting actors and actresses played a major role in the film, I feel that these characters stood out the most as main characters are meant to. The movie was directed wonderfully by Dennis Dugan, a well-known director and actor, he has also directed many popular comedy movies as well.

I personally have watched this movie too many times to count. It is one of my all time favorites; I can recite it practically word for word. The movie has a great plot and it makes you laugh as you understand the jokes. Although some might enjoy the film more than others, I think it’s a great movie to watch when you want a good laugh, or just something you want to watch with friends or family. Overall, I give Grown Ups 2 a 10/10.
